Curious Story contest
Following the Curious Collection rejuvenation campaign,
Arjowiggins Creative Papers is now launching a global
contest based on the same theme, calling on designers
to
create their own Curious Story, where the paper is the hero!
using papers from the Curious Collection.
With the aim of promoting new talent within the design
community, the inspiring brand is offering designers a
chance to be published and get recognition for original
and inventive work.
The microsite, www.yourcuriousstory.com has been created
to host the contest, showcasing entries in the "Gallery”.
It contains full details of the contest.
All entries will be put forward to national judging panels,
in October. Following the selection of local winners,
the successful designs will be submitted to the international
jury panel in November. |
The contest will be promoted internationally in magazines,
websites and blogs aimed at designers.
This is an opportunity to put creative designers and students
in the spotlight by publishing their work on a local and
international level.

Arjowiggins Creative Papers on Behance!
A place to make paper ideas stand out
We are excited to be launching an exclusive collaboration
with the design community that will give us great visibility
on one of their favourite networks. For those of you not yet
familiar with it, www.behance.net is a place for designers
to share
their creative portfolios and join “Circles” organized
around
themes such as photography, typography and
illustration
amongst others.
With the intention of helping designers find inspiration to
push creative boundaries, we provide online answers
to questions posed by designers in our "Circle". A fantastic
way to get closer to our target audience, by helping them
gain easy access to information about our products.
The network also provides a location to showcase our
favourite designers’ creative work.
And finally, in our "Projects", we present the latest news
from Arjowiggins Creative Papers across our portfolio of
brands, such as new range information, advertising
campaigns, “making ofs” and other new initiatives...
European countries represent an incredibly important
audience (for behance.net) with monthly visits from
designers amounting to almost 900,000 in Germany,
over 780,000 in France and nearly 1.2 million in the UK.
|

We have already welcomed 200 designers to our own Circle.
And this is just the beginning!
Go to www.behance.net, type Arjowiggins Creative Papers
in the
search engine, and find out more about our latest
activities.

2010 Luxe Pack Shanghai
The 3rd Luxe Pack Exhibition took place in Shanghai
on the 30th & 31st March 2010. Arjowiggins Creative
Papers participated in the exhibition
as a world-leading
manufacturer of creative papers. We focused on the
environmental credentials of the papers being presented.
The booth reflected the corporate responsibility
of Arjowiggins Creative Papers regarding the environment.
The design of the booth was inspired by the sustainable
development of the forests. The paper walls were made
of Conqueror recycled ranges using die-cut leaf shapes.
The fair was a great opportunity to display the products
in our portfolio that are suitable for luxury packaging
applications, including famous fine paper brands, such
as
Conqueror and Curious Collection, and the Creative
Packaging brand, Delos. Each range offers a high quality
finish for a wide variety of applications.
During the 2-day exhibition, around 150 guests visited the
stand and enquired about our products. The products and
packaging from Europe that were on display inspired both
designers and customers in the luxury goods industry.
The exhibition also promoted the development of the luxury
packaging market in China.

Curious Cosmic –
A warm welcome from the Earth!
Launched end 2009/early 2010, Curious Cosmic has triggered
much interest among designers and printers. Chosen for its
innovative surface, which gives a resolutely differentiating
touch to any project, designers have started to use this new
substrate for both leading-edge and to more traditional types
of work jobs, such as brochure covers and clothes tags.
Take a glimpse at some eye-catching applications below,
which illustrate beautiful ways to use the paper: brochure
covers, 2-side printed invitations, as well as the use of
lamination to achieve a two-sided cosmic highly attractive
surface and envelopes made out of Cosmic…
The possibilities are out of this world!
|
The use of a simple varnish, which enhances the matt
metallic sparkle of the paper surface, remains the preferred
print technique on this product.
Printers also rate the paper’s performance with UV offset litho,
a very interesting way of making colours stand out through
its highly captivating sheen. |
